Wakasa Wada Beach
In 2016, Wakasa Wada Beach became Asia’s first to be awarded Blue Flag status for meeting high environmental and quality standards. Its crystal-clear shallow waters, beautiful white sands and beach-hut restaurants draw many beach goers every summer while lifeguards, stationed on the beach during the swimming season, ensure the safety of beach visitors.
-
Shirahama Beach & Toriihama Beach
Shirahama and Toriihama Beach have gentle waves and beautiful clear water. Their small bays are perfect for children. A pine grove spans the area behind the beach.
-
Shiroyama Beach
The gentle waves of the mellow beach of Shiroyama make it a relaxing place to spend time until the sun goes down. Popular among families with small children, the beach is alongside Shiroyama Park and “Meikyodo Cave”, a beautiful scenic spot with a wide lawn area. Shiroyama Park has been selected as one of the top 100 sunset spots in Japan.
-
Wakamiya Beach
Wakamiya is a family beach with a nearby fishing pier where parents and children can have fun together. Not too crowded, making this beach perfect for those who want to enjoy sea bathing leisurely.
-
Hamanasu Park Beach
The waves are especially calm, so it’s a good beach for families with young children. One of the attractions is that you can have BBQ’s along the beach (during swimming season only). There is also a 1,400 meter long promenade.

Ebisuhama Park Beach
Ebisuhama Park is a laid-back beach for more mature tastes, where you might read a book and enjoy the peace and quiet. Nabae Beach
This beach is popular with surfers, and is the only beach in Takahama where you can drive your car onto the beach. *Surfing is prohibited during the swimming season.
