Sakichi Shrine

Sakichi Shrine is said to have been built more than 1000 years ago, and the precinct’s stone walls were built from the ruins of Takahama castle. Behind the Shrine is Mt. Myoken-san, and many visitors make the short hike to the top to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Takahama coastline.
It also holds the ‘Takahama 7-Years Festival’, which is a week-long and the largest festival in the Wakasa region and is only held once every 6 years.
